Philosophy

The human body is an ever evolving organism. Although the physiological mechanisms that create movement are similar among most people, our bodies are unique to the stresses we place on it daily. Additionally, psychological differences exist that also play a great role in development. In order to improve upon the structure and function of the body, there needs to be a constant stream of information gathered to ensure the demand is stimulating appropriate change.

I am skeptical of a lot of the information being churned out of the fitness industry; including my own protocol. A textbook education can only get you so far. In the real world, the neat formulas and prescriptions serve as a guide, but are far from law. If this belief is followed, then it should be clear that the magazines, books, and so-called professionals claiming to have the “best way”, are simply promoting propaganda. This is not to say there is no good information available to the consumer, but caveat emptor.

It should also be mentioned that numbers are great, but there are occasions where they can be ignored, and the body can be allowed to move freely. This can keep the mind and body fresh, but
it should be understood that it is temporary, and numbers rule in the end.

I have worked with and observed a number of clients with a variety of goals. Each experience allows for the opportunity to refine my processes and prescriptions. I appreciate the intricacies of the mind and body, and the marriage that exists between the two. I will continue to observe, take note, and seek the counsel of those I feel champion similar philosophies.
